Our 9th Annual Star Party will be held at Hodgson Observatory Located In Beresford SD on August 6 - 8. 2010 (Fri, Sat and Sun). If you are looking for door prizes, nice accommodations, catered food, you are out of luck!
A laid-back atmosphere of fellow astronomers, exchanging ideas, helping one another with a question or problem with equipment, staying up till the ween hours of the morning viewing or chatting about astronomy. Then this is for you. Come on down or up and visit with us. We'll even provide an astronomers's breakfast, Sat and Sun Mornings.
On Saturday, we will have a Swap Meet, if you have any astronomy equipment to sale or trade bring it in, we will have an area avaliable for display. Also on Saturday we will have a telescope clinic, if you need help mechanical, optical or collimation we can assist but please set up before dark. Guest Speakers to be announced later in the year. Saturday we will have day light viewing with our telescopes set up with solar filters to look at the sun..
This year we will have a hands on astro-Imaging session Fri and Sat, the session will consist of all hands on using two systems, then processing the images. This will be an extra cost of $20.00 per participant, please note Star Party fee is not included in this cost.
